Double Sided Adhesive Tape

The double sided adhesive tape is commonly used at indoor environments. It allows the user to reposition within some time of application of tape because many double sided adhesive tapes have good tack. The double sided e tape has a liner that protects the tape till the time you use it. These liners are usually made of silicon zed papers and it is easier to peel them when required in no time. The new double sided adhesive tape needs some temperature before application. It has no issues at warm places where the temperature is more then 20 degree Celsius but when a person wishes to place these adhesive tapes at places where the temperature is very cold then he/she has to warm the tape up to 5 degree Celsius or more before applying.

You also have to take extra care of the double sided adhesive tape before applying it to the surface. You have to make sure that the surface has no dust and it is not wet. Just clean the surface first and make it dry so that the tape works fine when it’s placed there. We can call it a demerit of this adhesive tape as it is bit difficult to learn how to place the tape rightly as when you apply the lower face to the surface then make sure it is peel cleanly. When you place the double sided adhesive tape and join the surfaces then it is not visible as it hides itself between the surfaces. So these adhesive tapes do not show off to ruin the beauty of place where they are placed like the ordinary tapes do.

The double sided adhesive tape is a pressure sensitive tape. It is an adhesive transfer tape with having adhesive coated on both sides of tape. It has the capability to make two surfaces join together. However it does not have the ability to make the heavy weight surfaces to stick together, you can only use double sided adhesive tape on light weight surfaces. These adhesive tapes are ideal for joining papers, crafts, arts, cards and like things. They are way better in dealing with these items in comparison with ordinary tapes. The double sided adhesive tape has very good grip for the surfaces it joins together. You can also place this tape on the steering of car and handles of various things to have a good grip. This allows you to hold such stuff with hands easily and your hands do not slip and save you from all kinds of possible injuries.

The double sided adhesive tape does not leave any residue when removed. It is designed in a way that it easily peels away. You can use these adhesive tapes in clothes also. They can hold the loose skirts and strapless dresses which women wear on temporary bases. These tapes usually come in large rolls sizing between one to three meters. One side of this tape usually has low surface energy pressure sensitive adhesive while the other side has pressure sensitive adhesive designed for high surfaces. They use phenyl substitute silicon for the side designed to adhere with the low surface while for the high surface side they use acrylic based adhesive with these tapes. The reasons for using different adhesives are to make the tape ideal in circumstances where it has to deal with different surfaces having different pressures. The double sided adhesive tape thus, works perfectly well between the low surface energy pressures and high surface energy pressures when this tape is placed between such surfaces for joining them.
